Wordpress Experts - Theme Change

Hey Guys , I'm recently bought a WP blog and thinking to do some changes on it without affecting the ''SEO'' etc.....I don't know much about WP or SEO so if you guys could add some suggestions - would be great

1. Theme Change - If i change the theme , what will it affect ?

2. It is currently using All In One SEO pack , should i change to Platinium SEO or is the AIO pack - good as well ?

3. The current Permalinks are like : http://siteurl/2011/08/topic-title/

I'm thinking of changing the permalinks to : http://siteurl/topic-title/ ::

Will it affect my currently indexed pages in google or will it automatically redirect to the new urls ( will it affect SEO overall ? )

Or is the current format : (http://siteurl/2011/08/topic-title/) good enough ?

1] ...well theme change would actually affect in some or the other way SEOWise
2]All In One SEO pack is not that good. Try diff SEO Pack from many available on WP site.
3] http://siteurl/topic-title/ is better
to redirect old urls & new urls to ur content(post) u would have to keep the old htaccess rules & add new rules below

EDIT: I guess WP will automatically redirect the old URLS to ur post even after changing perma format

>>Yes, it can affect from the range of nothing in terms of ranking for specific keywords to almost everything because if the theme was a bad implementation,google will have difficulty in finding content

>>use wordpress seo by yoast..its the BEST out there even if it takes some time to get used to

it holds true if you do 302 as well
