    Default Googlebot and closed forums

    If a forum is closed to guests can the google bot see the thread content
    probally a newb question but idk for sure

    lol yes there is a way.. there should be 2 different groups. 1 for guests, 1 for bots... diable access for guests... enable it for bots.. easy as that

    Yes, phpbb3 has a separated groups for bots and guests. If you have VIP, Staff Section or something like that don't allow bots there because someone could change "user-agent" at browser to bot and he will be able to see all sections like bots(including VIP / Staff if you allowed bots there)

    thats just common sense.

    Google's cache is a way around it. But usually i only do that if the next 2 or 3 sites on the list dont contain what i want.
    yeah its easy to get around it without signing up.


    if you do that, the members that sign up are more likely to be leechers and you will end up with a large commuity full of leechers with very few good, active members.
