    Default HostHatch - My Review

    HostHatch - My Review

Based on Hatch VPS 2 linux $33 monthly

With their permission I have used Rapidleech to demonstrate HostHatch's capabilities. I choose Rapidleech because its the most resource hogging bandwidth eating script I can think of.

    SERVER SPEEDS:

Speeds will vary depending on the server downloaded from, During my testing I have always had great speeds for downloading and uploading.

Here are a few screenshots of Rapidleech downloading and uploading to various file hosts.

    Fileserve Download:

Due to the slow speeds of some of fileserve's servers this is about the most you get from fileserve on these slow servers, not all of their servers are slow, maybe about 25% of them. You can get more speed from the slow fileserve servers by downloading several files at one time.

    Fileserve Upload:

As you can see, uploading to fileserve is very fast, generally uploading is faster than downloading with this server, probably goes for any server as its outgoing traffic.

    Filesonic Download:

Here you can see a file been download at almost 75 MB/s, this is an absolute insane speed, its way more than you need and even splitting that into fractions would make the average rapidleech user happy. This is common with Filesonic, unlike fileserve, filesonic's servers are all fast as far as I have noticed.

    Filesonic Upload:

As you can see filesonic upload is also very fast, some of the filesonic servers upload slower, I simply restart the upload another filesonic server is used and a faster upload is started.

With that above stated, you can see HostHatch is quiet a good service, there is hardly any down time, servers run smooth, unlimited bandwidth, large HD capacities, extra addons if you want, VPS is managed by Solus, unlimited Reboots and Re-installs, a good choice of Linux OS's both 32bit and 64bit inc CentOS, Debian, Fedora and ubuntu. All in all the service is great.

    SUPPORT:
I don't know where to start here, Support has been so great, its unbelievable.

Okay, When I first purchased the VPS, I asked them "where is my cpanel" they say "its unmanaged, you have to install it yourself", so I say "I have no clue how to do that", support actually took the time out to install kloxo on my VPS to get me started, this was great support I think.

Also, support will help you with scripts if you ask them, its not supported sine they only are supposed to support the VM, but they are nice enough to guide you and point you in the right direction when you have no clue what your doing, like if you wanted to set up a remote desktop, they will tell you the apps you need, little things like that is what make this support team great.

Issues, well, with every host there are issues that come and go, well, there have not been many, but there was a DDoS attack and support quickly rush to get the service going again, but if you contact support they will move you to another node on your request. I don't think other hosts give you this courtesy.

Refunds, I actually have no experience on this, I never needed to ask for one, but, an example of this I did experience would be when I downgraded to a lower priced VPS, I was using a $44 monthly plan, then moved to another plan which is this one at $33 monthly, instead of just simply moving me to a cheaper plan then leaving it at that, they did refund the $11 into my HostHatch credit, I can use this for next months bill now.

    Support ticket reply time:
I think this image speaks for itself

Now support is not always that fast, but its never slow, there is also live support, which is actually enabled, unlike other hosts which have live support but nobody is ever online...

That concludes my experiences with HostHatch and my Review, Give them a shot, I'm sure they will work out for your needs

I thank you for your review of them but i have had the opposite experience with them. Support was poor to say the least for a beginner in managing your own vps. i was asking questions and getting the reply - sorry we cannot help with this. Cannot really comment on the server speed as I never got the vps working well enough due to the lack of support i got for them. I still have a vps with them but will not be continuing when next invoice is due. If you are new to vps and managing yourself in my experience do not go with this host as they will not help.

Your opinion matters too, I dont just expect everybody to rely solely on my review.

I can honestly say that their support is great, for my support needs it was anyway.

But, to be honest, the only thing they are obligated to support is the online status of your VM, anything after that is courtesy of them, for example, help for non obligated support was offered, obviously somehow support knew about your CHMOD issue and checked it out for you, then pointed you in the right direction to get your issue solved.
Once again, your opinion matters, but you have to look at it in the hosts eyes also, they have to put out extra time to support non obligatory issues, like anything you install on your server. With the recent node3 NL issues (data center side) its been a struggle for support at this time. There is not much time for non obligatory support because their are issues with obligatory support to deal with.

I'm not saying your wrong, they may have been able to help you more, but with that said above, there is not much time to spare, If you purchase an unmanaged VPS you cant really expect it to be ready for websites and hosting as its unmanaged.

    Thank you for your reply

    Simply outstanding Neil.

I was almost going to sleep while I saw this and then I really wanted to ask you some questions which are :

    1) We told you it will cost 30$/month for full management? Why did you NOT go for it?

    2) We say 'Unmanaged', is there anything really wrong with this? Our job is to keep the server up and running, not installing rapidleech, sborg, cpanel and Kloxo etc for you and I believe we installed Kloxo for you for free, you did not say anything about that? Also, you have not took any screenshots of your OWN tickets?

    3) May I know what you were thinking when you ordered a Unmanaged VPS?

    4) I would advise you to remove these screenshots as I dont want this thread to get messed up or to defend my company, I'll take some screenshots of the questions you were asking so people should know what kind of help you were asking for.

    5) In the end, I would say, if people on this forum would think after seeing the screenshots of your replies which show what you were asking for and the service is managed and people here think that we we SUPPOSED to help you with all that, I would personally give you this VPS for free for 1 year with full management.

UNmanaged usually means NO software support , BUT does require the provider to give some sort of support for hardware issues or ip's anything like that.

    Domenic@ Thanks for the reply!

That is exactly what Im saying here. Neil has not posted anything related to his own replies so if he doesnt remove this or add it himself, I will be posting screenshots of his replies to show what he was asking was totally software sided.

We never have problems with the servers and if we do, you can see many reviews how fast we fix them. I would love to see what Neil thinks Unmanaged really is though
