W3 Total (disk page cache) and Nginx

I have Nginx + apache (backend) and I'm just curious, since Nginx already has proxy caching, do I need disk page caching for w3 total cache enabled too? What about browser caching with w3 total cache - can't I just make a cache expiry on nginx instead of using w3's?

Yes you can and also server side is better then php side cacheing

After a few days, I decided to just turn on page and browser cache for W3 and disable php caching for nginx. Just for the reason that I had loadsa dynamic php going on and they aren't really updating when front end cached 'em.

So its still static caching for nginx and apache for dynamic, sweet
