wrzc.orgGoogle Plus Invites - How they work
This is a Tutorial and Information Thread Only on Google+ Invites
Everyone is looking for invites but they seam to be confusing people so I'm going to try and explain how they work.
As you know Google Plus is invite. First you need to add the person (this is optional but advised). Click on circles and add the person. You'll have to enter an email and then a name for the person. You'll also have to select what circle you want to add them too.
Now they are your friend you can send them a message. Go to your stream (similar to Facebook Wall) and type a message. You have to use the @ symbol like you do for twitter.
You'll see their name come up as you type and can select them and then hit the green share button. You'll also see in blue button that Vic Gundotra is selected beside the add more people link. This means that only he will see this message along with you which is great for privacy if your inviting your girlfriend but don't want your wife to know.
This sends them an email. The email can take up to 30 minutes to receive. and will look like this.
That person has to click the red "Learn more about Google+" button. Once they do that they will be brought to plus.google.com and show a page. On that page they are most likely to see a message like this
This is just bad luck. They have to wait and their is nothing you or they can do about it. Google shows this message to control how many people join. From now on it's luck. You can keep visiting that page and when the demand is low you will see a login box. Now if you keep checking at the wrong time you could be waiting 22 hours (as I've heard of some). I was 3 hours but I know of people waiting 20 minutes and others who were lucky and didn't have to wait. It's all luck but if you hear that the message is gone then quickly follow the link in your email and login.
Don't request invites in this thread. Their are loads of those threads already. and if I'm honest you'll probably get one faster in the Shoutbox as it only takes a minutes and won't have spam bots getting your gmail by posting it in public. You could just add the person into circle and share something with circle members.
