How to change site forum root

Hi there,

Its my first time trying to change my forum root, and I'm having some trouble.

I have a vbulletin site and I want to make the forum root www.mysite.com/forums/ instead of mysite.com

I've tried a few things but they havent seemed to work and at the moment if I go to mysite.com it goes to the root page and it says forums/ then when you click that it takes me to my site.

So I need some help redirection root to /forums/

If anyone knows how that would be great. Thanks.

Redirect via htaccess

Ive tried this, but I'm not sure if I did it right, could you possible post what I should put in the htaccess file?

Redirect /index.html http://yoursite.com/forums/index.php

If it wasn't index.html just yoursite.com would I put Redirect / http://yoursite.com/forums/index.php ??

Yes, or add a blank index.html to the root

Ah ok ill try it out now, for this to work, will I need to put all the files in a folder called forums in my forum root, and then stick the .htaccess and blank index.html in the forum root not the forums folder?

You stick the htaccess in the root, not in the /forums directory. And yes, you'll need to move all your vB files to the /forums/ folder and then change the link in the ACP
