Details emerge on Google Nexus 4G; Android 4.0 on board
By Andy Weir

For the last couple of years, Google has sought to define the pure Android experience through its Nexus series handsets. The current version, the Nexus S, has been well received, although it is little more than a reworked Samsung Galaxy S.

Despite the Nexus S only being available for a few months, work is already under way on its successor, expected to be called Nexus 4G.

BGR has learned that it has a 4G LTE radio on board (sorry, WiMAX fans), along with a dual-core processor ? either 1.2GHz or 1.5GHz flavour, and believed to be a next-gen Snapdragon.

Silencing the complaints of those who mourn the absence of 720p video capture on the Nexus S, the Nexus 4G will have 1080p HD video recording, along with a ?monster-sized? 720p HD display; the ultra-thin body also carries a 1MP forward-facing camera, and a 5MP camera on the back.

Most excitingly, the Nexus 4G is expected to be the first device available with Android 4.0, or ?Ice Cream Sandwich?, and it will dispense entirely with the familiar Android buttons below the screen, in favour of an exclusively screen-based interface.

BGR has heard that Google aims to have it on sale by Thanksgiving and they speculate that this may be coming to AT&T around the same time period. Whenever it gets here, it?s shaping up to be a truly awesome device.
