Scopehosts big downtime and DDOS on shared & reseller hosting
Like in topic, they write something like this on their "support" forum:
We had to take all our shared & reseller hosting servers for major upgradation. As latest exploit had been released on the present kernel and we had a pending cpanel updation schedule.
Both the features are being updated along with latest version of apache , php and other modules .
As its a necessary updation.
Maintenance might time period of 12-24hours . We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to all clients.
Suitable Compensation will be provided to all clients .Out of 5 Shared And Reseller Hosting Servers . 4 Of them Are Over . The Server with IP: 89.149.244.xxx Is having issue of Heavy DDOS attack while the maintenance is in progress . We Have controlled 50% off the attack within 12hours now . Presently we are seeking help of Datacenter Network Team resolve this issue completely as soon as possible. So that service resume smoothly as before.
We assure all clients of this particular server to get best of the compensation from us. As this is the 1st major downtime of this server .

Oh yeah. Every host should upgrade. The issue they want to have sorted is the issue that ALL hosts should have sorted already (but didn't, well apart from a few I know).

exactly, NewEraCracker, but 3 days of maintenance and in my case of downtime its bit to much im starting to have bad feeling about this :/

If you do have a bad feeling about this, move to another host. There is not much you can do.

The only downtime you should get from a kernel update is a reboot when your done (2 min).
