Ioncube on shared hosting
Installing ioncube on shared hosting will cause high server loads while the encoded scripts run ?
Generally are they allowed to install on shared hosting by the host ?

Yes they are allowed and no it should not have any consequences on performance. I use ipb on all shared hosts and they have mods/apps ioncube'D .

daringhost.comMost shared hosts should have this installed. A good amount of scripts require Ioncube to be enabled. If it is not enabled I would ask your host to enable it. They should not have any issues with high load if they enable it.
