Default External Antenna for My WiFi Card

    Okay.
I have got Atheros AR5B95 inbuilt card for my notebook.

I really wanna pwn few neighbors but I`m not able to cover a large area with enough signal to connect.

I have decided to use Yagi (Directional) Antenna to boosts up my Wi-Fi signals.

    My question is,
    Should I do that ?

I`m gonna use TV Cable cz it`s there in garage.
I have to open my notebook & attach it manually since there isnt any option for external antenna.

Is there any possibilities of any harm to my WiFi card or mother board due [approx 20 ft] long antenna ?

Just free to share your experiences If you have done anything like this.

I have a 40 ft long pine installed at home building that is made of metal & It`s handy,
since I`ve spent a real good money for i7 with 4gb ddr3, my papa wont allow me to get another WiFi card.

I just wanna make sure that it wont affect my notebook hardware anyway

    Nanostation cost a bit more.
I think I can just make it easy using Yagi cz I`ve already got all the tools at my home.

I`m just confirming that long distanced cable wont kill my card.

Don't do it man, there are much safer/cheaper alternatives. Buy one of those 500mW USB wifi adapters, I tried one and it surprized me so much. The range/power was off the chart, I almost had half a mile with it...
