How do i uninstall apache on Centos 5?

I have been searching for a while, but unable to find out how to uninstall apache on a webserver. I have found a post which is outdated, and does not work.

it depends on how it was installed.

in most cases it should be

yum erase httpd

[robinex]

I dont know how to uninstall but. If you want disable

[server#] service httpd stop
