do you send direct from your server or use a tool to do so

reason is i have recently taken over a site and want to mass email the members

we are talking about 12 thousand and i do not want to flood the server so i am looking for a tool to do so or a programme

any suggestions

If this is about a IPB board then you can just use the build in bulk mailer. And you can choose how much mails you send in one go.

yea i no that but still sending so many emails cannot be good for server load
