Both have advantages and disadavantages

Ipb is more comfortable in the administration but basically its just getting used to all that and that takes time for cross switchers and new users.

but beside those 2 there more to test and find out like Xenforo and smf as freebie but less addons etc

IPB Isnt that hard to moderate & Live Search in Admin Panel solves every problem the most time.

Simple moderating can be done without ACP & I live IPB.
It shouldn't be a problem to mods I think.

In my own opinion, it would be a stupid idea not to run IPB3 when the EOL is reached.

I'd offer my services on helping/customizing/testing to get this conversion done or have it worked on so it's ready.

vb4 is shit. If we have to upgrade, it should be IPB. Most members here are familiar with ipb 3. Also, most features of vb3 are available on ipb. It's a little harder to customize but it can be done.

So, imo, ipb3.

I would also go for IPB. More and more people are using mobile deviced (since the release of tablets and the revolution of smartphones) so a mobile skin has been converted from a "Possible to have" to a "need to have".

As for the adjustments in flow (for moderators etc...) you don't really have to worry about that as everyone will be used to the new ways of doing stuff within a week.

Either stick to vb3 or go for IPB.

IPB is the future. I will not sit here trying out all the reasons why its better than vb4 because its obvious in every way. Totally agree with Mr Happy.

As for IPB skinning, its easy. I've made custom IPB skins by looking through an existing skin to become familiar with the code and thats with html, css and very little php knowledge.
