I like dark vb skin but with light coloured text not the grey kind often used, grey may look cool and more blended but if you intend to read more than a few lines it plays havoc on the eyes. But it's hard to please everyone.

dark - as long as its kept clean and easy to navigate etc.
light - if you cant do the above.

dark is better, but if you dont know how to make it look good and clean, dont try.

I prefer light themes, but i dont mind some bits to be dark, for example KWWH's skin it is a nice combination of whites/greys/blacks & reds, making it an overall great simple skin which is easy on the eyes. I think dark warez skins are over-rated.
