I need webserver that support htaccess

Hey can you recommended me some webserver that support htaccess and is not apache. I know that litespeed support but free version is limited on 150 concurrent connection.

I read about cherokee but doesn't support , i don't know about nginx or hiawatha

Can someone recommended me Free web server that is better from apache and support .htacces (i need .htaccess for joomla)

Actual "htaccess"? Pretty much all web servers that I know of, nginx, lighttpd, etc... Have a form of directory access protection.

nGinx supports it if it is configured properly

I also recommend re-compiling apache with fCgi modules for best performance

as i run nginx aside of apache
