People basically hit the nail on its head with suggestions so I'll just criticize some ideas:

-Dont add shit thats going to slow it down. Once LulzImg starts to load pictures slowly, you'll just scare a metric shitton of people away.
-Dont add a news feed. Seriously, who the fuck goes to a picture hosting site for news?
-Get yourself an "official" twitter, so you can update people when possible downtime's will occur/other useless bullshit news thats either unnecessary or totally useless.

my suggestion:

registration/folder option

firefox addon --> one click upload directly to particular folder

counter near the picture showing stats by day - today 40 views , yesterday - 140 views
this week 1080(just like that)

showing - popular picture in your(user account) account(views 8000)

Top ten picture in home page (globally)

top ten picture of user(in control panel after login)

Must-->SEO friendly(url friendly links - with the actual name of image) so google can understood what it has, so you also get benefitted in google image search - all are lulzimg link in google image search or atleast 5 out of 100 image in search- because we are busy and don't have a time to add alt tag in forum

Highly recommended--> subdomain for user to upload files or sub domain to warez sites, eg: wareztunnel.lulzimg.com (that for wareztunnel) or lulzimg.com/wareztunnel/lisa-ann.png

radio button for selecting as ADULT image
