What sizes for banner/button do you prefer to put on your website?

I'm looking to offer advertisement and I want to know the sizes you prefer the most before I randomly pick a size I like.

If you own a website, a blog, a forum or a dll that you are willing to put my (not yet made) buttons/banners, what sizes do you prefer?

Can you say both the resolution XXX*XXX and the size of the GIF image? So I can have some idea for my limits.

I mean file size as in the KB's. How many KB's is max for animated GIF's etc
