Default Installing RAR On A Linux Server

Here is a small tutorial on how to install RAR on a Linux server.

    Please enter the following commands:-

Download a binary package from the official site:
    Code:
    cd /tmp
    wget http://rarlab.com/rar/rarlinux-3.8.0.tar.gz
    Untar the file:
    Code:
    tar -zxvf rarlinux-3.8.0.tar.gz
Both rar and unrar commands are located in a rar sub-directory. Go to the rar directory:
    Code:
    cd rar
    ./unrar
Copy rar and unrar to the bin directory:
    Code:
    cp rar unrar /bin
Congratulations, you should now have RAR installed on your Linux server

There are some open source rar tools that you can install via the repositories.

I doubt there are many open source apps to create rars as it's a copyrighted mechanism.

Maybe to UNRAR, yes, but to RAR maybe not.
The linux port of 7zip could do it but I don't know.

It just shows some text saying it's a trial blah blah but you can do everything normally.
