    Default Japanese Characters for Wi-Fi

So I went on Google translator and translated some English words to Japanese, So I decided to put this Jap. characters as my WiFi's name (SSID)
When I did this it restarted my router, So I thought it was a coincidence and the modem somehow just restarted. But I kept trying and it seems that the Japanese characters restart my modem and reset my WiFi settings.

Can anyone try this and tell me if the same thing happens?

Im using Verizon DSL by the way
