I faced the same problem. Most of the templates aren't working coz its an old pack and many of those sites either no longer exist or have changed their forum causing the templates to not work anymore.

I had to manually fix many of those templates which took ages. Even though the template checker now says most of them are fixed, more than half the templates throw up errors while posting.

Wish someone could share their working templates with us.
