Do i have to register on Google PR for this or it automatically updates the status?
Also

You don't apply for page rank.
Google gives your site a Page Rank calculated using its algorithm.
You don't have to signup anywhere.
Link Exchange with sites (every site that links to your site is called a backlink)

Backlinks can be obtained by

- Link Exchange
- Adspots
- Link Building

Also, you can use xrumer.

Your PR is updates 4 times a month, every 3 months and 2 full PR updates.

The PR algorithm is complex is totally depend on the number of inlinks and teh PR juice they have and no of out links.


You can't apply for PR updates, it's what they give you.
Again, don't care about PR too much. Some people say, PR helps get threads indexed faster and higher rankings but meh, there's not really much difference between pr1 site and and a pr0 site.

There many pr0 sites which get 5k organic/day and many pr2 sites getting 50 uv/day.
