say i will buy a unmanaged vps with cpanel/whm. the hoster will install everthing first time, security etc. then what is my job to have my websites 99% up?

what do i need to do? can someone tell me in short what i need to do? i already know how to restore backups, restore, shut down, useing sftp to login into root, basic things.
