Threads/Forum Sections screw up

So I was deleting and merging a bunch of sections into one in IPB 3.1.2. I first tried moving all topics to the big one via ACP but for some reason the section just deleted and the threads were lost. So I tried moving them with mod tools and now they will not show up in the big section but the threads themselves are not lost, I for some reason, can still access them.

Any help o_O?

When you made your "new section" , did you recache your skin?
Also, how can one section mysteriously disappear? Just go back on your steps and think what you have done, perhaps you can restore it like that.

And in the worst case just upload a recent backup

I blame you for using an unstable forum software called IPB 3.1.2 (c'mon 3.0.5 is better)

Also let me guess... You are using MySQL 5.0 right?
