Problem adding button in phpBB3

Hi, I'm having this problem for since 2 days When I go and edit that overall_footer file in phpBB3 it don't show .. even If I remove all the data from in it, it still don't vanish from the website .. If I will remove all codes from footer file and leave it alone, still website is working. Its mean that whatever I do is not applying to website but its applying to that file, what to do ? I'm in trouble please let me know Please!

Maybe you are editing the wrong temlate's overall_footer file.

I just followed the guide and I edit it, and even if when that one doesn't work I go and edit other templates too even which is not activate ... still dun work!

clear your PHPBB cache
and yeah don't modify the overall_footer from admin panel...
follow the step:-
Download file->modify file->upload file->clear cache
