Default Error message with phpbb3 board

    Code:
    General Error
    SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

    Too many connections [1040]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.
I have no idea how to put a stop to this, my forums locked up and would not load properly. When something finally did happen it was a blank white screen with no error message.

Any suggestions as to how fix it?

Looks like mysql isn't able to handle too much connections

Maybe you should go to better server. Or maybe some one is DDoS'ing it.

If you are on a VPS, you should block port 3306 if mysql runs in same machine with server and forum.
