    Default Is it possible to extract the database from Full Backup?

    The .sql file seems to be corrupted as i am not able to import it using phpMyAdmin as it has some problems.

    So just wanted to know, i have a Full Site Backup available with me, is it possible to extract the database from it & the .sql file ?

    it is a phpBB backup.

    BTW, what will happen if i directly upload the full site backup into FTP?

    Certainly your db will NOT be installed correctly.

    All other aspects of site will be there, but obviously it will not run.

    is it possible for me to open it in some kind of editor and read the posts?

    It begins...
    Full site backup? Was it created from cPanel? If yes, then yeah it's very much possible (and easy) to get the database.
