Such a hack would boost PS3 sales, but deteriorate game creators profits...

For example, such news got me interested in buying a PS3, but no way will I be buying any original hard copy games

It's true. There's a modchip available which lets you copy the games on your PS3 HDD.

Edit: the modchip costs around $100 to $150.

Well recently there have been alot of copies of this dongle. This is good because it will bring down the cost, however also bad as it will make for the possibility of scams.

Still like the free idea.

Clones have/are being released for $60
and Sony have also filed a lawsuit over the psJailbreak so many companies have to refund their customers.

Hopefully there will be a "Do it yourself" soon
