who could help me install lighttpd on a VPS linux server?
hi,
i tryed it already on CentOS, and Ubuntu but it just doesn't work.
the service is running... but when i try to view it via my browser i get a 404 page not found page.
anyone can help?

i have installed lighttpd, but it doesn't work.
that's what i did:
yum update
wget http://packages.sw.be/rpmforge-relea...l5.rf.i386.rpm
rpm -Uvh rpmforge-release-0.3.6-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm
yum install lighttpd
chkconfig –levels 235 lighttpd on
/etc/init.d/lighttpd start
why doesn't it work? please help.

Check the server.document-root , as i remember maybe it 's "/var/www/html" upload something and check , you will see it works
