TvLog.meb=bit
B=byte
1B=8b
100mbps=~12mBps
so a 1gbps port can deliver ~120mBps (u will nvr get )
ok..??

A 1 Gig port gives you a lot of speed for downloading and uploading but a 100 mbps server will give you less speed for downloading and uploadingas compared to 1 gig port.
1 gig port = 1024 mbps port
Now you can differentiate it.I am the TharkiBaba >_> Oh well thats my websites name -_-

100mbps will top out at around 11-12mBps
1gbps will top out theoretically at 128mBps but in practice will top out around 30mBps sometime 50 or more if your lucky
with 1 gbps its normally how ever fast the upload from the server you are downloading from is which will be your top speed

imageditings.com shimory.com uniquerelease.comyeah,i know 100mbps download speed max around 12mbps
We can calculate max speed download by /8
1mbps = 100kbps download speed, 10mbps = 1mbps download speed, 100mbps = 10mb download speed, 1gb = 100mbps download speed.Am i rite?
Im looking VPS or Dedi for my RL with 1gb speed,they said 1gb port.I want to know 1gb port is 1gb speed?I know,hard to get max speed transload.My RL now is 100mbps port,max transload around 11mbps.If im use 1gb port,i can get like 30mbps transload?Sorry for my bad english

LulzIMG.com chtbx.com RapidPremium.Net ReleaseLeech.com RLSLeech.com NinjaRobotPirateZombieNazi.comYou said you have to divide by 8 but you're dividing by 10? o.O
Bottom line is, if it's VPS, the 1Gbps line will be shared which means you won't be getting 1Gbps. Now, if it's a dedi, that 1Gbps could very well be dedicated which means you should be able to utilize that 1Gbps port to the max. As for what transload speed you'll be getting on RL, that depends on the number of users that are using resources on the dedi at that time but you should expect (theoretically) 10 times more speed.
Also, there is a difference between uppercase and lowercase. A 1Gbps (Gigabit per second) port has a max download of 125MBps (Megabytes per second).

nooky.usI had several RDPs with a 1Gb port both offshore as onshore.
Offshore DL from Rapidshare I got max about 45MBs. On onshore DL from HF around 50MBs max.
But direct downloads (eg realitykings) speeds like 60-70MBs were not uncommmon.
Also the outgoing bandwidth of a 1Gb port is much better than a 100mbs. You can still use upto 10 uploads and still get a good speed per file.
I tried a couple of 100mbs RDPs too. But if you had 1 Gb ports you never want to go back (even if 100mbs is cheap).
