Search Index query

I have a phpbb3.0.6 forum. Its database size was 92MB. But recently I did something That Ican't understand myself.
I did this... ACP<Maintenance<Search Index>Create Index
The Value field was zero, it became 9695 and suddenly database size jumped to 138MB from 92MB... Don't know what happened... Can anyone help me?
