I first bought a server from their German selection back in January, they told me it would be ready soon. 10 Days after that, someone finally emailed me with the login details. Server speed was great, support on the other hand was a little sketchy.
The first ticket I think I submitted was to reinstall the OS (I kinda screwed it up) They told me to pay $25 to do this. If you didn't know they resell Netdirekt. So they get the awesome rescue system. I paid it, since I think they hire drunk people for support. It took them 3 days to reinstall the server. To make matters worse they sent me the wrong password the 1st time. So everybody on the same page right now? Santrex Hires Drunk Monkeys for their support. Alright forward about 10 tickets and about 3 downtimes.
The last ticket I submitted was to install Direct Admin for me (cause their license was $9). Well that required a reinstall, and no there was no reinstall fee this time. So I told them to go head with the reinstall. (I'm not gonna go into a lot of details here because I have the entire ticket added at the bottom.) After nurmous days of downtime, they finally tell me that Direct Admin doesn't work and I can get cPanel for free for one month. Well I said no because I wanted my money back for all that downtime. They come back and say "We're not liable for your problems". This would be true BUT your the one that didn't do any Q&A on your products before releasing them to the public. We all know that Santrex is always right and the customer is always wrong. One more thing, Mr. Cook says the support took such a long time because it was in the Billing department. Well why the fuck didn't you move it, you incompetent monkey.
If they choose to close my account this will only prove what I am saying even more.

Please note, I use the term Monkey in this post a couple times. This is not in a racist way. It's only a synonym for him doing everything half ass and not caring.
So in review, Don't go with Santrex
- No Refunds
- Support is useless
- Customer is always wrong

DA installs ok on netdirekt servers.. the x64 needs a custom install but still simple enough.
iptables have most ports closed by default (da port), but still easy to sort out.

I kept on fighting with them to no avail and i had to just let that project go at the time. Really bad customer support too...
Even if they give me 3 months dedi to compensate - i'd turn them down, because some time down the line - they might say - hey its your isp again ...

After everyone knows that santrex is the worst host still they will go with them secondly you are buying a a dedi so u should at least check with some one who already has brought from that particular place . Santrex will just charge you 25 $ for reinstalliong which takes 10 Min max On NetDirekt As i am a Reseller i know thew whole procedure you just need to Start the server in rescue mode and then type the command newimageman and select which os you want remaining the Server does it. Its a shame people charge 25 $ for doing that .
