I think its can be made super easy to use, with something like http://www.sabnzbd.org/ and an nzb website (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NZB)
My mother uses it
For those that don't know how to use it, ill try and put it into terms you'll be familiar with, you need an NZB website which gives out XML data files (like a .torrent) http://www.binsearch.info/
After you've got that NZB file you'll want to put it in a download manager (think jDownloader or uTorrent)
Mac: http://www.panic.com/unison/
HTTP: http://www.sabnzbd.org/ (a bit like Rapidshare leech)
Thats usenet in a nutshell just to give an overview.Safety First, then Teamwork

RavenFaust.com USAWarez.com DLThe.Net DLThe.ComEvery ISP gives out Free usenet access but your limited to about 2gb a month or less, you have to ask your ISP Provider for the details and so on, or look on the help section of your ISP's Website.
I did use the Usenext free trial's for awhile ,back when they had them, it was so-so, Kinda like IRC in a way but just alot of dump servers.

I use it, my ISP kindly gives me free Usenet .
Using it is simple, download Grabit and use sites such as these to create an nzb:
Code:http://binsearch.info/?b=2012.2009.TS.EN-CartoonZ&g=alt.binaries.movies.divx&p=felix%40felixthec%40t.net+%28Felix%29&max=250
