Need help with my site

Basically I have a bridged IPB forum with a WP blog. I considered it small as I dont even have 3000 registered members and I've never had more than 100 users on my forum at any time.

I have been asked to moved from several shared host because my site & forum is using too much resources. Though none of them were able to tell me whats the cause of it. All they said was that my site is using too much resource or that WP blog uses too much resources. Finally I moved to a VPS with 1GB Guaranteed memory and up to 2GB Burstable memory. Now even on VPS I am using too much of the resources and now my site goes down almost everyday because of insufficient memory.

A small forum and site cant even run on 1GB memory and 1 core of Q2C 9550, that has to be ridiculous no? The other problem is not one can tell me what causing these problems. I dont even know where to start to fix the problem.

So I am hoping someone will be able to help me figuring out the problem please? I will PM you my site if you think you can help me. Please help. Thanks.

Try deactivating some/all plugins on the WP blog, I had this problem with other hosts too.

I've done that, I've removed all unnessaccary plugins on my site, stil having the problem.
