Should you ask others to backlink to your site?
Though Google frowns upon paid and endorsed backlinks, why would it be so bad to simply ask others to backlink to your content? If someone read your article and found it to be useful and linked to it, then that would be a personal endorsement from their site to yours. This type of editorial link is always valued. So who is to say you could not simply email a site owner and ask them to look at your site or posts to see if they like it or would recommend the site to their own readers.
