how to optimize apache for less memory usage ?
i am using VPS with 8gb ram on centos 6 64bit and most of the memory is taken for httpd connections is there any way i can optimize it ? Were i have tried so many optimization techniques but none of them helped me

To get recommended settings for your server try apachebuddy which is much like mysqltunner run below commands to configure it
Using ApacheBuddy
You can download the ApacheBuddy script as follows:
Code:wget https://raw.github.com/gusmaskowitz/apachebuddy.pl/master/apachebuddy.pl
Code:chmod +x apachebuddy.pl
Code:./apachebuddy.pl
Follow Board Rules & Thread Rules.

Once you got output you should update your httpd.config manually based on your recommended settings by apachebuddy
Apache config location:
/etc/httpd.config
