Hello I have a site that was hit by the spammy link update, I think Penguin/

Either way I am not rich and I am trying to find an honest seo or find a tool that will give me basic to more advanced tips on how to better my seo. See I did rank on page one of google for years, and now like page 12. I know its my fault and I have been trying to remove spam links and get back on track. But maybe I have some other issues too.

I just need some honest help and its hard to find.
