    It begins...
No, you're wrong. This can and this will backfire. You share, for example, high res vector art that you designed, with your blog visitors. I, a potential abuser, come along and download your link multiple times (probably via multiple IPs/accounts, etc) and your daily bandwidth allowance of 30GB is gone. The general public can no longer download your vector art, and your guests won't go through the pain of setting up an account and getting themselves added to your contact list, etc. It'll work when you have smaller groups collaborating. But not if you're looking to target en-masse.

The new system is open to abuse.

"Its good it will prevent leech people blah blah" - at least try and understand the new system before you type in comments that make you look like an idiot.

    This is quite interesting..
I saw Rapidshare going down so many times in the last years due to their changes.
    Ups , sorry , they DIDN'T

Lots of people , lots of times have said RS is going down , bankruptcy , nobody will use them.
    Still they have survived.

Of course, this is by far one of their most radical changes but still.
If i were to bet , I'll say RS will still be around at least the coming year.

why do not want to see reality, rapidshare is in danger because free uploaders were still using in rapidshare and some
companies were planning shutting down rapidshare in 2013, and now rapidshare is 90% backup place, only you may share
    with your partner or yourself

They could at least leave unlimited traffic for RapidPro user.

If I download my files which is on my account.
Does it also need to follow the 30 gb rule?

    Thanks.

Nope, there is no limits to download your own files.

Super busy. I have to forward this email to 20 people in 5 minutes or else a ghost will visit me tonight and my room is a mess

So basically Rapidshare becomes a storage. Now, the thing i'm really interested is: how big this storage will be, and how long will they keep the files.
You won't be able to share your files with public anymore, that is clear, but it could be very well a big storage for your illegal files. We will see it later.
It is clear that they will not go down after this change. There will still be possibilities to share legal files (i guess they will delete the traffic limit if you write to them and your files are legal /you were able to do that with the speed limit too/). Only illegal file sharing will go downhill... it is still better for them to lose visitors but stay in business than ending up like mega and kim dotcom.

Ok, rapidshare is a best storage, and no more. Personal storage with pay-pal payment option.
    We all need RS storage.

But what the hell their users post ton of links on pornbb.org, forumophilia.com, planetsuzy.org and many other forums? What the hell RS allows to place links there? As I know paypal not bill porn at all.
As I know, all hosters who allowed on this boards must pay to forum's admins. If RAPIDSHARE want to stop piracy, want to survive, better solution is leave these forums. If Rapidshare is not able to do it independently, and become completely white we can help, fast and straight. Becuase your face may be white, but your asshole is black and dirty and smell bad. It's a 'black out', not seen in a first approximation. Good way to make black money, showing smile on white face.

I allready kept my eyes on this problem, I need heplers (now some professionals uploaders are ready to start parsing top-boards).
And further we will decide where to send all this proof.

Looks like they removed the 1GB limit for free user and only 30GB for free and RapidPro user.
    https://rapidshare.com/#!rsag_news

In the future RapidShare will use a classic hosting model which means that not only the storage space but also the traffic created will be paid solely by the owner of the file. The prices will not change. With RapidPro you automatically have unlimited traffic for your own downloads of your files and the downloads by your contacts. Additionally you have 30 GB public traffic per day. The recipients of your files have no download limitations whatsoever regardless of if they have RapidPro, a free account or no account at all!

Hello, a contradiction appears not quite understand:

" not only the storage space but also the traffic created will be paid solely by the owner of the file."

    "The prices will not change"

    The unlimited storage it removed?
Or leave him and will pay the amount you have saved.

But if you pay for the files, change prices.

    Anyone know more about that?

While the option of unlimited storage, unlimited time in the archives, and unlimited download your own files, rapidshare will be the best option for backups.
