Question about Rapidshare
Can anyone tell me is it possible to use Rapidshare only as some kind of online storage... I am uploading a lot and i need some filehost will be available for remote uploading... Those files are not going to be shared, i will use them only for remote uploading on other filehosts... Also is Rapidshare going to delete all that files if they are not downloaded for long period of time (i will upload at least 250GB per day), so it will be around 7TB per month... One more thing... Is it possible to remote upload to Netload and Uploaded.to from Rapidshare? Thanks in advance...

SeeingMole.comIf those files aren't your original stuff, but got from elsewhere, chances are that they may be shared on rapidshare by somebody else. Then there's a risk that the files may be flagged by dmca or illegal content (porn) and since your file is identical, (hash, so file names doesn't matter) they'll also be removed.
So, you see, even if YOU don't share them, but somebody else did, they're still at risk of being removed.
If you have pro on rapidshare, they'll never delete any file due to inactivity. However, as I said, "your" files can still be removed if it has been flagged as illegal content.
Eventually if you got lots of files like that, your entire account may be suspended.

SeeingMole.comI don't think they ban for downloading copyrighted stuff. Otherwise they'd have to ban 90% of their accounts...

Rapidshare is fine as storage, but make sure that you repack all files so that they get new unique MD5 hashes, and don't share the links with anyone. Rapidshare bans files from their system according to MD5 hash, and they crawl forums and publicly accessible sources for copyright infringing links. Give your files random names, and RAR them with a strong password, and remember to enable file name encryption. But if you follow this guideline, you are probably safe. Another caution: Using the import function whereby another's files get imported into your account is a kind of deduplication. It spares Rapidshare server space, but the MD5 hash remains the same. So if you import a RS link you find on a forum, and said link later gets blacklisted, your identical copy has the same MD5 hash and also gets blacklisted.
