    Yeah i'd go for a 1gb Ram setup and still optimize the VPS, Apache, php and MySQL etc.

    You def. need to look into upgrading. I would say 1-1.5 GB of ram. MINIMUM. Good luck with your endeavors.

    Upgrading will help your vps.
    with only half a ram is not really a great idea. Maybe anything from 1GB-2GB would be fine.

    I am paying $4/month for my server. I could probably go for at least $6 to $8 per month for an upgrade.

    I have tried using LightTPD instead of Apache and the memory usage was significantly reduced.
