Tips for new owners

Some tips on what not to do:

- themes are copied. Sure not everyone can customize there theme 100% (I mean have the knowledge) but at least put effort into your site.

- Mods copied from forum to forum. Example: the rotating image download thing. Some sites call it spotlight. Like 9/10 new sites have it.

- Big point here...posts threads content and community. Basically complete copies using leechers. I go to so many sites now who don't have there own uploads. Most sites I go to dont have a community. I see sites with stuff like

35,000posts 34,900 threads
168,000posts 165,000 threads

Its all leechors. Should you be proud without a community base?


- Fake stats like

Members: 111,188

for new sites is a turn off for members

What to do
- link many other sites.
- upload your own stuff (get alot more traffic this way)
- build a community first

thats easier said than done....to make EVERYTHING unique u wud need to have top notch coding skills, pro gfx-er and also a lot of time and money to invest. not every1 has that.....i think ive made my point

anyways good tips DeLeTeD....i think u missed one thing though. side admin must have good rep in the scene otherwise he/she wont get linkbacks and itd be harder to build a community

yea somewhat true. Most of KWWH is friendly, odd jerk here and there. Most will linkback anyways rep or not.
