Hi Guys,

I have been doing research on uploading and posting files and I have a few questions about security.

In most countries uploading copyright material is considered illegal. What steps are uploaders taking to reduce the risk of getting busted?

This just doesn't seem like a safe hobby to jump into unless you know what you are doing.

Questions

1. How do you purchase an account from a filehost and receive payments from them without giving away your identity? If they get busted ala MegaUpload .. the feds would have all your information + all the evidence ( Ip address combined with stored files ) they need to charge you.

2. How do you conceal your identity when you post files on sites ?

3. How do you pay for VPS and RDP ? Can you use a proxy so that the VPS or RPD do not know who you are?

4. I see soo many people requesting & making payments via paypal...this can't be safe? Is nobody worried or concerned about getting caught? I read about little old ladies getting fined thousands of dollars for downloading a few hundred songs and yet i read about uploaders posting 20-30gigs of files per day and rarely ever read about them getting busted.

Anyway, I would love to jump into this hobby but am not prepared to risk everything I have to make a few hundred dollars a week unless I know I am protected.

Looking forward to any answers any experienced members can provide.

protect your link with url shorter or some sites gives to you the option to mark the link only for registred users, or even only for JD download

I don't know... but there are no problem with this... is not illegal sharing files. Don't worry

you're paranoid? don't worry about this!

Is not very safe. Sometimes Paypal blocks uploaders/hosts/filehosts accounts. Payza, wmz and others are better

Wow,

Either you are living in a country that doesn't care or you are really clueless about the laws around the world. As far as I know it is Illegal to upload and share copyright material in almost every major country.

I may be paranoid.. that doesn't mean there is nothing to be paranoid about..lol

its not illegal, its unlawful. one results in a criminal prosecution the other a civil prosecution

1. i only upload enough to redeem for premium accounts

the other points just depend how safe you want to be, just dont use your own ip for uploading

From what I understand .. Downloading copyright material is legal in many countries but uploading is a criminal offence and may result in cival penalties on top of that.

What countries do you guys reside?

I think I have most stuff figured out now.

3. Purchase RDP & FileHost Accounts W Pre-Paid CC and VPN On
4. Always have VPN on when posting or sharing files

Legal/illegal? It depends from country-to-country.
Uploading copyrighted material for only backup is legal as long as you don't make it available for other people.

Yes, thank you thedossetup.. that is my understanding. It was not the uploading I ment was illegal but the sharing of copyright product.

Yes, good idea... even you can get it for free in some countries (like neteller)

Bad idea I think... filehosts always check the IP's. Too much problems... be careful... a lot

BAD IDEA: some payment proccesors like PAYAPL could blocks your account by using an anonymous internet. Check their terms

Mmmmmm... anyone doing this? I think is bad idea (IP sharing on sites)

I think you can't... or if you can, only for short times... and have to be careful a looooootssssss

dont worry it is very rare event that filehosts have ever given uploader info and usually when a filehost gets sued
