Hard drive issue, help much appreciated.

I bought a 500gb Hitachi External Hardrive the other day, moved all of my old restored files from the dead one onto it. Now when I try to use it on my laptop it doesn't show up. I've tried to change the drive letter but it's protected by GTP partitioning, how do I get around this?

Put it in Microwave for 25mins and I hope everything start working like past
