Shared Hosting Needs To Be Cleaned Up

There are to many fly by night host in the shared hosting section I have see like 4 or 5 host fold for saying they allow warez when there data center does not. Something needs to be done to the shared hosting section to get rid of these fly by night host. Any host using OVH for there data center should be banned no questions asked. Here is my idea for the shared section

300 post to make a thread in this section
Be a member for a min of 3 months
Host should be no less than 6 months old
And the host can not have all shared hosting plans under $7 a month

I certainly don't agree with some points what you've said. A host does'nt necessarily cost above 7$ a month, if that is the case, then, very few over here would afford it. Also, the host age thing was already discussed here many times, This one can't be done as there are many "good" hosts emerging out as-well. You must be careful while selecting them.

But i do agree that hosts should mention what they allow and what not, mentioning their data center.

BTW, did you ask your host regarding this ?

I do agree that maybe there should be a bit stricter rules for hosting advertising

1. Your Company should have been around at least 3 months(not something you made two days ago)
2. Datacenters should be stated...

So even if his initial post is more personal, i do agree that KWWH should try and take a firmer hand on hosting.
I believe my old host Servode had a bad rep here and he was still allowed to continue to advertise/sell here.

One of the problems is that the owner (that the above comment is aimed at) is another little boy who thinks he is the best hoster in the world, does not employ any other staff members to help run his "business", then when he has a problem with a customer, he throws his rattle out of his pram and he thinks the whole world is against him.

Yes the rules on hosting advertisements should be tightened up, more stringent requirements must be shown by the hoster and statements like:

All of our customers enjoy our 24/7 support via Ticket Support and helpdesk

which in this case are completely untrue (as posts here have proven), should not be allowed to be advertised, unless they can prove there are true and will be so throughout the life of the hosting company.

I want to point out that it has not been proven that there was CP on the site.

We all know how this goes accusations are accusations not facts.

These are 2 parties in a dispute that needs to be contained to 1 thread.

I understand some points about new host not being singled out however it would have been better made by a person without a interest in a hosting business.

I am all for cleaning up the section but many of you would be unhappy if it was left up to me on how to do it.

Of course OVH doesn't allow any sort of illegal stuff. You are risking your server getting reformatted after 3 complaints WITHOUT any warning. It's been happening for years now and it's not a secret.

No serious hosts use OVH/Kimsufi. Only cheap hosters use OVH/Kimsufi as they are known for being the cheapest of the cheapest on the market which allows hosters to cash out fairly fast.

I have never seen KWWH host who survived the first year on OVH, it usually takes a few months for OVH to cut prohibited activities off. I like OVH suggestion, it'd definitely reduce number of cheap scamming hosts.
