subdomain's effect on SEO

Hello everyone,
this has been bugging me for a while. I want to create a subdomain for my website that is dedicated to a totally different content than my root domain. now i want to know :
1. does creating a subdomain have any negative SEO effect on my root domain ?

2. does my subdomain ges properly crawled by search engines or is it treated in a different way ?

3. i will be linking to my subdomain from time to time from my root domain ? is doing this bad for the root domain seo ?

I appreciate any guidance in this matter

more than 3 sub domains is not treated as a well practice and google dosen't like it

Having a completely different niche and website on subdomain isn't really good idea. No use of subdomain, unless it's an extension of original site. Therefore the word: sub-domain.
