FileShoppe is a pay-per-download file host running two primary services.

1. Paid downloads, where the uploader sets their own price and retains upto 99% of their earnings less our $0.01 per 100MB or 1% of the transaction value, whichever is greater.

2. Free downloads, where the content is made freely available to downloaders with certain restrictions imposed (such as reduced speed). These files then have an option of a premium download (to bybass any imposed restrictions) at a fee of just $0.01 per 100MB. Uploaders can earn 20% on 'free' files.

Instant Payout
FileShoppe pays out instantly on every premium/paid download. Funds are cleared into your CarrotPay merchant account the instant the downloader begins their download!

Free Files
FileShoppe allows you to charge for your files or release to the public free of charge.

Our rates are a fixed US$0.01 per 100MB or 1% of the total transaction (whichever is greater)! If releasing your files for free, you will receive upto 20% of the total sale price instantly in your CarrotPay (http://carrot.org) merchant account for every file you upload and share!

e.g. 350MB file cost $0.035 (3.5c) to download. Uploader receives $0.007.
e.g. 5MB file cost $0.01 (1c) to download. Uploader receives $0.002.
e.g. 1GB file cost $0.10 (10c) to download. Uploader receives $0.02.

Priced Files
Uploaders can release their files for a fee and maximize their earnings!You can charge between $0.01 and $200.00 for your digital goods! The bandwidth fee remains static at $0.01 per 100MB.

e.g. 350MB file price at $1 would incur a bandwidth fee of $0.035(3.5c). Uploader receives $0.965.
e.g. 5MB file price at $0.10 would incur a bandwidth fee of $0.01(1c). Uploader receives $0.09.
e.g. 1GB file price at $0.50 would incur a bandwidth fee of $0.10(10c). Uploader receives $0.40.

(Non-Free files are not available as free downloads)

Payout Method
FileShoppe pays out with CarrotPay (http://carrot.org). We use CarrotPay for several reasons.

1. Transactions are NON reversible. This allows us to be sure we can pay out instantly. And you can be sure your funds are yours!

2. Transaction fees to accept CarrotPay are low, at just 5%.

3. CarrotPay supports split payments! This is how we can guarantee instant payout. Funds go directly to your account via a split payment. When the downloader makes their payment, the funds are instantly sent to you directly without ever going through us.

4. Flexible top-up/withdraw methods. CarrotPay allows for top-ups via Credit Card/Paypal/Bank Transfer and more. You can withdraw to Paypal and Bank.

5. You don't NEED to sign up for CarrotPay. You can use your Google/Yahoo/Facebook/AOL account to authenticate yourself through open ID. Although you can sign up for CarrotPay directly too.

6. Buyers can pay with Paypal directly. If buyers don't have or want a CarrotPay account, they can simply pay via Paypal. However the paypal fees will be passed onto the buyer. Unfortunatly this means a $0.01 transaction would end up costing $0.35 to the buyer. But they are always able to bypass such costs by signing up to CarrotPay

Account LESS
FileShoppe does not depend on user accounts to function. FileShoppe does not have any premium or user accounts for downloads. We only offer user accounts for content providers as an option. Accounts are required to make use of our FTP upload facility.

The safe, secure and anonymous!
As FileShoppe does not depend on accounts, you can be sure we don't hold any of your personal information. Our system is highly distributed, with files hosted on our purpose build CDN. We can ensure that files are only delivered upon successful/valid payment.

How to Upload?
FileShoppe currently offers upload via web browser or FTP for registered users.

F.A.Q

Q.) Do you pay out to Paypal/AlertPay/Moneybookers or any other payment gateway?
A.) We have no plans to integrate any other payment gateways at this time. We may assist our users in cashing out funds from CarrotPay via any method, including bank transfer, however this will be at our sole discretion and any costs associated with such transfers must be covered.

Q.) Do you offer remote uploads?
A.) At the moment, no. We have plans to implement a remote upload feature for file directly accessible via FTP and HTTP, however we will not support transfers from other file hosts.

Q.) Do you pay out for free downloads?
A.) No we do not pay for free downloads.

Q.) Can I upload via FTP?
A.) Yes you can!

Q.) Can my files be organized into folders?
A.) Yes you can! You may upload entire directories, which may in turn contain further sub directories. Your files will be published into folders retaining the directory structure in which you uploaded them.

Q.) How do you respond to take-down requests.
A.) We will respond to take-down requests as laid out in DMCA, which may result in your files being deleted should they found to be in breach of a 3rd party's copyright.

Q.) How long will my files stay on the server?
A.) We will guarantee to store your inactive files for at least 60 days unless they have breached our AUP. As of August 26 2012, no qualifying files have been removed in the previous 13 months of operation.

Q.) What are site coins?
A.) We issue site coins, which are essentially a coupon (or voucher) that allow users to purchase items sold on FileShoppe without the use of real cash. We will agree to redeem site coins at face value if a merchant has accumulated a number of site coins through the sale of their files.

Q.) Are site coins real money? Can they be spent anywhere?
A.) No. Sitecoins are issues by us (FileShoppe) and can ONLY be spent at FileShoppe. Though it is not real money, we will honor these site coins and redeem them at face value via a number of methods less the transaction fee associated with redeeming those site coins (such as Paypal or bank transfer fees).

Q.) What is Paypal-Pass-Through?
A.) Paypal-Pass-Through is a feature offered by CarrotPay to enable users to pay with Paypal instead of signing up for a CarrotPay account (similar to 2CO). Any buyer with Paypal can now pay for items sold using CarrotPay's merchant account facility, and funds are transfered directly to your CarrotPay merchant account. However, Paypal-Pass-Through will result in additional cost to the buyer as they must cover the fees themselves. This will result in buyers paying an additional 4% + $0.35 (approx) for the transaction.

I have listed the reason for using CarrotPay and already mentioned we have no intention of integrating any other payment system.

CarrotPay is currently the only way we can offer instant non reversible transactions. No other gateway can offer the facility of split payments, and without this feature, we would be required to perform accounting for our users. We do not wish to do this. Right now, we are not responsible for holding funds on behalf of our clients which makes their earnings safe! 100% safe!

Downloaders can PAY with Paypal.

Content providers (uploaders) can only receive funds via CarrotPay, but CarrotPay offer a number of withdrawal methods, including Paypal and Bank Transfer.

Actually, it was CarrotPay that implemented the feature. But I will take some credit for it as we were the ones to push them for the feature for over a year :-).

To be perfectly honest, unless files are priced over $1, I don't see many people using Paypal-Pass-Through otherthan to try the system since it will cost them quite a lot to use it.
