Work smart, not hard - suggestion for new business model for porn industry
There's lot of fuss lately with cyberlockers losing their paypal accounts, and other payment methods.
Porn industry, just like movie and music industry, doesn't like their content being spread, without them having a benefit from that, which is absolutely acceptable reasoning. They want to live from their work, like everyone else. However, I find their solutions and reasoning of the problem, as flawed.
Instead of bracing circumstances, and building new business model, their heads got stuck in late 1990s business model, which is way too old for todays society.
No one from them came to idea, to exploit this situation, and with one sweep, they could monetize their content, uploaders would be turned into promoters, there would be no DMCA, MPAA, RIAA, and whatnot.
My idea is this:
Make filehosts to introduce licensing model.
You will be able to license every file uploaded by some pirate, just like sending DMCA, but instead of removing already existing content, that is probably all over the internet, how about making it yours, and profit from it?
IF filehost doesn't accept it, it's obvious their business model only wants pirated content, then, feel free to sue them.
If they accept, every content uploaded, can be registered under owners account, each sale will be shared in 3 ways, where content owner gets the most (ex.60%) filehost (30%) and promoter (10%)
So, files would be shared same way, however, 'downloader' will be landed on page to see preview of the content before any purchase , he can purchase 'credits' for download (ex. 1000 credits=10$) and each file can have it's download price in credits (ex. 5 credits)
This is the way to earn from already existing files uploaded.
For future files, industry can offer a model, where THEY upload video, and promoters have the ability to get link, previews, screens, and whatnot, from their promoter accounts, and share it.
Ok, so, this is basic suggestion of how everyone can benefit.
I would like to hear CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, no bashing.
If you think model is flawed, lets hear which part exactly, and HOW WE CAN TOGETHER FIND A WORKING SOLUTION.
Any stupid comment against porn industry, or uploaders, will be reported, this is a serious constructive thread, so, please keep it civil.
Lets make our brain cells work together, instead against each othercvrle77 Reviewed by cvrle77 on . pixbucket.inIts a great idea but there is no way to be done. You cant force 70 filehosts to create a account for more than 250 companies(per say).
Also what most people do not see in this idea is how simple is the pirate to become free. You will share EVERY single file in the internet with no fear of suing. You can start many forums to share illegaly something but still be legal cause the company will earn.
Great idea,too sad cant happen

If we stop filelockers then the only competition will be the torrent sites. This kind of business model will not work:
content owner gets the most (ex.60%) filehost (30%) and promoter (10%)
Why should i colaborate with a filehost to promote my content and get 60% of the profit when i can promote my content in other ways and get 100% profit of all sales.

If they reject, they will be sued for allowing piracy on purpose, and best evidence is exactly that, that they've rejected legal business model. So, nothing then stops you from suing them, killing their payment processor, etc. However, all this is based on liability of filehosts, where they don't know what's been uploaded on their HDDs. They've served online storage.
This is a way to legalize all this, and everyone can make money out of it. Everything can be done, if someone wants it to be done.
Why should i colaborate with a filehost to promote my content and get 60% of the profit when i can promote my content in other ways and get 100% profit of all sales.
More spreading, more money. Less spreading, less money, obviously.
If you just kill filehost, you get nothing from files that you could make money from.
60% is better than 0%
And btw, that was only suggestion, you have to leave space there, for filehosts to have some profit, and promoters to have the reason to promote your files.

yeah, but my ideia is that downloads would be free, and (like adsense) contets would earn cents from downloads, and uploaders to (ofcourse in diferent proportions) and like its always been, filehosts win by selling premium accounts and withs adds and etc.
Imagine that... at filesonic (old days) some good uploaders earned 100 dollars in a day imagine that, from this 100 dollars 60% are repassed to content owners of the links reported. Uploaders would eran less, but imagine NEVER again have a dmca removed.... its a big evolution....
