Default 10Gbps or more Unmetered, Solid state drive

    hello
first off im looking to move a huge amount of data
I already have 2 servers with 1Gbps ports
and id like to try 10 (or more if posible) got to be Unmetered
I also need to do a lot of Rar work and I hear SSD drives really speed that up

I like to set things and forget them for a few hours so ill need a lot of storage space

Shared? Or did you mean dedicated?

Budget? I hope you have a decent budget given your demands.

im willing to go upto about $300
but im thinking shared would be a lot cheaper

im going beyond what I know here and would like to test the actual results before spending all my $ on it

O I would also prefer a server in the NL if possible
had one there before and loved it (just a 1Gbps though)

Well 10Gbps is an impractical requirement. If you're moving a lot of data, you can only really use 10Gbit if the server you're moving it FROM has hardware and network capacity to burst 10Gbit. 10Gbit one way downloading from hardware/network that can only go up to 1Gbit is a complete waste of money.

SSD drives are good, but only if you REALLY need that kind of speed. Most people do well with your regular SATA3 drives. So unless you've actually researched into your needs and found SATA3 to be slow for your use, you're talking about wasting money on SSDs; they are expensive, and the amount of space you get is low for the price you pay.

EDIT: In any case, the only provider I can think of that would be able to give you an SSD w/ 10GBit at the budget you have is OVH. Most providers cannot realistically do 10Gbit because of the upfront costs of commits that they need to pay. More so considering the fact that the end customer will most likely not really use the 10Gbit ever. Or if they do, in very short bursts and sparingly.

I plan to upload mostly to RS and then remote out of them
though it would be nice to upload directly to NL, RG, & BS

and im spending more time RARing then uploading as it is
but I am concerned about SSD being to small for my needs

my main server at the moment has 4TB of space and a 1Gbps line
    and costing me about $250

hmmmm say wouldn't a 10Gbps port mean I could send more sreems at higher speed to maximize things
like send to more then one file host at once
or posibly even download at the same time

    just day dreaming here but
what about putting the operating system in an SSD drive (say about 10-20GB)
then add some regular but fast drives for storage

Maybe exmasters.com and webintellects.com servers will be fine for your needs, the OP.
Their servers are stable and prices are affordable.

thanks but exmasters.com seems to be offline
and webintellects.com is to small for my needs (about 1/4 what im currently using)

I'd recommend you to use 1paket company.
They provide stable servers and their prices are not high.

thanks anyway but I got one a few days ago
    8 cores
    24GB of ram
    80GB SSD
    6TB of disk storage
    10GBPS unlimited
    $450

    thinking of RAR ?
yea I always reduce it to store
I also setup a ram drive on the server and have RAR using it
    about triples the Raring speed
and about 4 times faster downloading to
still not getting anywhere near the 10,000GBps though (about 160MBs)
still fantastic though and uploading is about 210MBs

the DC made a mistake and one of my Disks is not active (should be fixed soon)
then ill stripe them and I expect that to speed things up some to
no mater how fast the connection sooner or later that data has to be handled by the HD
