    Default about dmca notices

    Has anyone who hosted their site outside the US, like in NL or something ever recieved a dmca or copyright notice? Just wondering cause DMCA is an American thing.

    DMCA notices originate largely from the United States, and yes they do target sites hosted on foreign soil, more often than not. My server in Malaysia did receive such a notice once, when a single cracked iPhone app was irresponsibly uploaded by a member. It doesn't take long for these guys to take notice of any site harbouring illegal content, it all depends on their determination and your location.

    Yeah, if they're assholes in the e-mail I just tell them to fuck off and tell them to kill themselves. But if they are nice, I will put them in a weekly drawing and I pick out one e-mail a week of the nice ones and remove that content only.

    I get at least 4 DMCA complaints a week for my image host site. 9/10 i just remove the content.
