Bullshit. If you can get a working script, you shouldn't develop it for yourself. You can always adapt it in that way you need it, but developing it from scratch is like reinventing the wheel.
xfs is not perfect, but it works... If you want to start a new site, just compare the available solutions, check how much you need to invest to adapt it for your purpose and then decide if it's better to get a completely custom script than a working solution where you don't need to handle all basic testing because it is already done.

xfs is a good script , and works perfect if you NOT changes the amount PPD and PPS after you full them in the first time

Most people who say develop your own, are the same clueless ones who can only install WP through a auto-installer on shared hosting.

If you don't know what you're talking about, then say nothing.

Custom is stupid if you do not have a coder working full time to keep up with bugs/cheats and add new features.

Also, I've used xfilesharing for years now on many websites and it works perfect. When you get some kid who can't work a server or modify html using it, of course it will get a bad name when so many sites are run into the ground with stupid errors, misconfigurations and running cheap servers.
