Pakistani Fishermen Found a 40-Foot Whale Shark In the Arabian Sea

This YouTube video, uploaded by user 'mcghori', shows a dead whale shark being hoisted onto a pier in the Pakistani port city of Karachi on Tuesday.

Local reports said five cranes were used to lift the dead shark, which reportedly measured over 12 metres long and almost 2 metres wide and weighed between six and seven tonnes.

Reports said it washed up dead near the pier after being spotted apparently unconscious around 150 kilometres away 10 days ago.

Karachi's Express Tribune newspaper cited local reports claiming the carcass sold for 1.7 million rupees, or more than $17,000.
